Syringa Plus was established in 1994 by Roger G. Coggeshall and Evelyn A. King as a wholesale nursery, with retail trade also available.
Roger was a passionate nurseryman, devoted to the propagation and cultivation of many varieties of woody plants, trees and shrubs, for use in New England landscapes. He began his career as a propagator and educator at the Arnold Arboretum. For over twenty-five years Roger and Evie worked together to build Syringa Plus Nursery, and make lilacs available to growers for the public.
Although Roger passed away in 2013, and Syringa Plus missed three years of propagation, 2019 found Syringa Plus reestablishing its inventory.
In 2024 Syringa Plus Lilacs merged with Carol’s Collectibles Nursery in Swanville, Maine under the name Bloomin’ Root Nursery.
